Write like an Aztec!
The Aztecs used a complex writing system similar to the hieroglyphics of the ancient Egyptians. The books they created are called codices, or one is a codex. There are Aztec codices left today in museums and at universities and they tell us how they lived until the Spanish Conquest in the early 1500’s.
Try your hand at writing like the Aztecs! Here is an Aztec Code Sheet Aztec Code Sheet. See this set of Handouts on Aztec Writing.
